Our goal is to find out how much SA would be in the fruits and vegetables in the beverages that commercial brands advertise to be composed of. There are other beverages that are often marketed as "healthy," such as green juice. SA may be found in a variety of fruits, and fresh fruit juice is used in a variety of drinks. Based on this, we want to ultimately guide juice consumers toward products that have greater amounts of SA by finding NPR1 in the fruits and vegetables that are reportedly in the drink. Our hypothesis is that if there are NPR1 genes in these plant species, we may investigate the likelihood of SA being present in these commercial beverages as well; leading to further possibilities of research on the effects of SA on people.
