Abstract:

Antibiotics have revolutionized modern medicine; however the overuse and abuse of antibiotics in medicine and food, agriculture industry has led to antibiotic resistance as one of most important public health threat. Different levels of antibiotic usage, levels of antibacterial sterilization techniques, and number of patients served in different types of medical facilities would influence the likelihood of the presence of antibiotic resistant bacterial strains. As antibiotic resistance becomes more of a problem, it is necessary for us to investigate antibiotic resistance in different levels of medical facilities, including testing centers, urgent care facilities, doctor’s offices, and hospitals.
