Abstract:

We are doing this project to compare the quality of different oyster cages throughout New York and to establish baseline statistics for future research. In our research, we will specifically be focusing on identifying different aquatic and algae or plant species in the oyster cages and their abundance. On top of this, we will also be evaluating the impact of various different variables, including water quality, nitrogen levels of the water, parasites, and water acidity, on the oyster cages and its biodiversity.
