Abstract:

In the Urban Barcoding Project, we aim to investigate and possibly find a correlation between the species of freshwater snails living in the waters of Van Cortlandt Park and the pH of the waters that each of those species lives in. We hypothesize that there will be correlation between the pH of the water and the species of freshwater snails that live there. We have formed this hypothesis based off of findings that say that freshwater snails are very sensitive to pH and water quality.
