Abstract:

In this Urban Barcoding Project our team is investigating if it is worth it to buy more expensive food because it is “organic” and “healthier” than the foods sold in supermarkets. We will compare vegetables from a farmer’s market and vegetables from a normal supermarket in the South Bronx to determine if the quality of the vegetables vary based on specific pathogens found on both species.
