Abstract:

Question: whether we have real meat and fish ingredients in some snacks in our supermarket? Content: The snacks are very popular in our daily life. Plenty of people prefer to eat some snacks with fish and meat rather than real fish and pork. Are there real meat and fish ingredients in the snack? That is my question. So I want to use DNA barcoding to detect the DNA from different snacks to check their ingredients. These are used to identify fake and shoddy products and to determine whether the business is really honest or not. I will collect the samples in the close supermarket. During the experiment, I will use vertebrate primer cocktail and COI primer dimer and I will also extract DNA from animal samples using Qiagen dneasy blood and tissue kit.
