Abstract:

The objective of this Urban Barcoding Project is to identify the species of worms that has the highest tolerance for polluted soil and will therefore work best in urban environments. The pH level of the soil will be taken as a means of quantifying the pollution levels. By identifying the species of worms most tolerant of acidic soil, researchers and gardeners will allow for the best soil to be cultivated in urban areas and promote growth of plants.
