Abstract:

In this Urban Barcoding Project, we are aiming to determine the biodiversity of different areas of Juniper Valley Park by testing the different soil pH levels. We will be going to a total of 10 different locations and then examining the different insects that we found. By examining these different types of insects, we can then send off these samples of insects to be even further analyzed and determined the specific species. This will allow us to explore how the diversity of different locations are impacted by the alkalinity/acidity of soil. These locations are shown specified on the map and chosen to reach various areas in the park that are different from one another. Some spots chosen may have more grass, rainfall, or exposure to humans/ pets compared to others, explaining why the chosen locations are so scattered. By conducting this experiment, we can further learn more about the various organisms that are actually living in each specific area. Additionally, we could potentially even
