Abstract:

DNA barcoding is a kind of method to help us identify species by using a small, standardized segment. What we need to do is to use a small piece of our sample and then we will gain a short, specific segment of DNA that exhibits enough variation between species. This method has a variety of application like biodiversity assessment, food authentication and so on. Take identifying biological traces at crime scenes as an example, DNA barcoding can help police track illegal trade of products. To make sure that there is really meat in the dog food, a lot of researches have been done. In these researches, most of them think that there is really dog food in the dog food, but not too much like approximately thirty percentage or more. However, some researches also said that there is no meat in dog food. So, we decided to take does dog food really have meat in them as our project topic. In our research, we decided to use silica DNA isolation due to the high purity DNA and rapid and efficient bind
