Our goal is to measure the different types of invasive species across both Black Rock Forest and Central Park, examining how invasive species differ between old growth forests compared to urban forests that are man-made and exposed to human activity. This data can be used to better help us understand how the conditions of a forest lead to the growth of invasive species and whether increased human activity has a direct correlation or impact on the types of invasive species that grow in a forest. We also seek to examine the interactions between invasive species and native species across both Central Park and Black Rock Forest, noting how the invasive species behaves across both environments. The existing literature suggests that invasive species have a detrimental impact on the health and development of native species, but we seek to examine in greater depth how the particular species interacts with one another and competes for resources in a given area. This will in turn inform our unde
