Abstract:

A variety of tea, nuomixiang, contains the species Semnostachya menglaensis, but has also been known to include another plant, Strobilanthes cusia (indigo). The root of indigo is used in traditional Chinese medicines, but the leaves cause side effects such as headaches. We will use DNA barcoding to find hidden indigo.
