Abstract:

We propose to investigate whether Japanese knotweed is really more than one species because it’s primary method of reproduction helps create isolated patches, each of which has little genetic diversity. We hope to find out whether Japanese knotweed varies in its genetics based on its location and may have evolved into new species.
