Abstract:

St. Mary’s park, a typical municipal park, is located in the heavily urbanized South Bronx, and has 35.1 acres covered with lawns, trees, and paved pathways. Within walking distance from St. Mary’s park are two small community gardens; Isla Verde and El Flamboyan, (0.4 Acres). The number of ant species found in each of these study areas will allow for an ant species diversity baseline to be created.
