Abstract:

Invasive species are plants, animals, or pathogens that are non-native to the ecosystem under consideration and whose introduction causes or is likely to cause harm. Their main threat is that it replaces native vegetation this results in the loss of native plant species, which provide habitat for other organisms. Since the Bronx is an area inhabited by mostly immigrants populations , we expect to see a wide variety of invasive species although most invasive species are planted via natural methods we hypothesize that some invasive species in the Bronx will have come from regions far away and brought by immigrant populations residing in the Bronx.
