Abstract:

We suspect there is a genetic link between the behavior of corn earworms and aim to test this hypothesis through the collection of specimens from both common nesting locations that reflect the potential diversity of corn earworm taxa. Our goal is is to use DNA barcoding to provide this explanation, which the scientific establishment currently lacks, much to the expense of corn farmers who lose a portion of their crop to this maize-munching menace.
