Abstract:

In May 2015, pollen slicks were reported at Hempstead Harbor in NYS. This research was completed to comprehend which organism(s) caused the slicks to form. It was hypothesized that plankton species were responsible for the increase in water turbidity. Results revealed Bathycoccus prasinos and Cucumis sativus were prevalent within the waters.
