Abstract:

The goal of our project is to study the microbiomes of different classes of bees from a non-productive hive in order to gain more information on how microbiome changes may underlie hive failure. Microbiomes from the queen, drones, and worker bees obtained from a hive that produced no honey will be examined for their similarities and differences as compared to microbiomes of these classes of bees in normal, productive hives.
