Abstract:

Several species collected may be indicator species and biological controls which will permit us to determine the current state of the river in terms of stability and overall quality of the water. Better quality water may reduce risks to humans using the river for recreational purposes. There was also a significant number of amphipods and smaller crustacean-like organisms which in the past were not as common. This also may indicate improving water quality and better conditions for organisms to survive. The link to human health that with better water quality come more natural predators to control the populations of harmful insects
