Abstract:

Our project goal is to measure the biodiversity of the three courtyards located in Connetquot High School. We’ll go about doing this experiment by setting out traps in each one of these “environments”. One courtyard is turf and doesn’t contain much life, the second is grass but is very big, and the last one is also grass but is much smaller than the other grass courtyard. With the objective of biodiversity, we can see how the different species of ants in the courtyards act as an indicator on how well the different environments of the courtyards affect the overall well-being of the ecosystems.
