Abstract:

For this project, we aim to determine the species that can be found in the Peconic River. We hope to find novel species, and are looking for invasive species in this area as well. We want to compare our results to those of prior years. Using these, we want to identify any prevalent problems currently affecting the Peconic River and the surrounding environment. We have collected 20 samples of freshwater invertebrates and insect larvae, some of which may be invasive or disease carrying
