Abstract:

It is difficult to track where deer are getting most of their nutrition. By examining the plant fragments found in deer scat, we will be able to determine if the deer eat more forest based plants versus suburban landscaping plants. If humans have cut back on the forest too much the deer will have no choice but to eat the landscape plants and that will be an indication that the environment and the deer population are in trouble
