Abstract:

Customers deserve to know if the food they’re eating fits the advertised product. In this project, samples of vegan-advertised food will be taken from different fast-food restaurants and tested to see if they contain animal DNA, which would indicate they are non-vegan. The main goal of this project is to investigate if there are samples with non-vegan components in the options that are provided by the fast-food chains. This project is important for the safety of people who have allergies (shellfish, meat, eggs, etc.) and restaurants' credibility of the vegan options that they are selling.
