Abstract:

Biodiversity is the variety of organisms that can be found in an ecosystem or a habitat. Biodiversity may differ according to multiple factors such as temperature, precipitation, altitude, geography, and relationships to other species. In this project, our research will be on the biodiversity that can be found during the day and how it may differ from the biodiversity found at night. We focus our research in the region of Wheatley Heights on Long Island. The area that we are collecting the samples from is a stretch of land that has a cluster of different types of plants on one side and a road and houses on the other. This area has lots of mushrooms that grow along with tall grass and wildflowers.
