Our group's specific aim for this project is to focus on the specified study of ants and how they are impactful to the biodiversity of Long Island. Although this is very specific to a certain location and type of invertebrate, this can help to further gain knowledge about how our ecosystem works in harmony with many different species all living in a similar environment. When we conduct our research and collect the different species at Sands Point Preserve, we will be able to report on the findings of the many species that will all coexist in a similar environment. We are conducting our research and samples at Sands Point Preserve because it is a very large nature center where there will be plenty of diversity in plant and environmental areas in order to find lots of biodiversity in the species of ants.
