Abstract:

For our project, we will be extracting and barcoding DNA from fresh, recently preserved, and historical herbarium specimens of various plant species in order to study how DNA extraction and sequencing success may differ based on age. We believe that this study can be used by future researchers and scientists, to investigate questions regarding preferences in herbarium material.
