Abstract:

We aim to see if there is a change in the proportion of migratory birds and non-migratory birds during specific times in the year between past years and the data that we collected in December 2023, by collecting feather samples from environments including spartina marsh, forest, and beach within the Marine Nature Study Area (MNSA) to further understand the species of birds living in the environment. We will use DNA barcoding to identify the species of the bird feathers and compare the data with the past UBRP avian group and available data in databases such as eBird and iNaturalist.
