Abstract:

This proposal aims to show the impact of air pollution on moss biodiversity on Long Island, NY while observing what species are found in different areas. The Research team is exploring the use of mosses as a bioindicator for air pollution. The team is going to pick samples in 3 different locations. Then, bar-code these samples, the team is going to determine patterns in species in the different areas to possibly find a correlation with pollution.
