Abstract:

The Hooker Chemical and Plastic Corp is located in Hicksville and known to have high levels of waste discharge, leaks and chemical spills all over. Because of this, living organisms on the site, specifically ants' have the chance to be affected. The chemicals have the chance to influence the biodiversity, or different species and genetic make ups of the ants. The objective of this experiment is to explore that, using iNaturalist, DNA barcoding and the Simpson's Diversity Index.
