Abstract:

Ants play an important role in their environment, by contributing to the food chain as well as breaking down dead plant and animal matter through scavenging. Ant biodiversity is important because a greater number of species means more possibility of this environmental job taking place. Ants will be collected in two locations, one near a public school building and the other in a park area. It is expected that the park area will show a higher biodiversity of ants than near the school building due to less human activity.
