Abstract:

Due to climate change and habitat destruction, there has been an increase in the number of endangered tarantulas. By using DNA sequencing we can identify specific tarantula species and aid zoos in breeding them to further conservation efforts. With this project we seek to preserve endangered tarantulas by finding and analyzing their DNA sequence to find the species they can successfully reproduce with. In order to do this, it is essential to have tarantula tarsus molt samples and the fitting tools and machines for sample analyzation and DNA sequencing.
