Abstract:

Biological specimen identification using DNA barcoding is a taxonomic method that uses short genetic markers in an organism’s DNA to identify a particular species in combination with bioinformatics tools. With the use of bioinformatics, short sequenced DNA reads can be reconstructed into the consensus sequence of the amplified barcode.
