Abstract:

The major aims of this study are to 1) characterize aquatic viridiplantae biodiversity in NYC, and 2) to compare and contrast DNA barcoding and eDNA metabarcoding approaches for revealing an ecosystem’s taxonomic profile. Additionally, we hope to 3) build a library of local genetic variants for Staten Island.
