Massapequa park is a park or preserve that protects the natural ecosystem of the area. However, the temperate deciduous forest has been polluted by humans over the years. “Marine mammals, due to their long life span, key position in the food web, and large lipid deposits, often face significant health risks from accumulating contaminants.” (Cite here ,Brandon). This shows that pollution is providing health risks to organisms in the World, however it may still have great biodiversity. The hypothesis is that there are lots of different species because of the location of it. The location of it is important because this area has lots of water and plants, allowing it to support many organisms. Throughout this experiment many tools are being used, this includes waders, nets, and forceps. It is hoped to find the specific species using DNA barcoding and learning the biodiversity of the Massapequa preserve.
